Assistant Chief Constable

Cheshire Police Authority is seeking to appoint a new Assistant Chief Constable and would welcome applications from individuals with impresive track records and an in depth knowledge of the service.

Cheshire Constabulary serves an increasingly diverse area with a wide range of policing challenges, and a resident population of one million people.

The Authority and Constabulary continue to work together to build on their ambitious improvement programme which has already seen delivery of a new headquarters building; three centralised custody suites; the increasing use of technological advances in policing; and significant investment in neighbourhood policing and protective services. We are seeking an officer who has the commitment to drive forward continued improvement, whilst continuing strengthening neighbourhood policing, and is fully committed to tackling the public confidence agenda and working closely with the Authority to address the tough challenges ahead.

The appointment and salary will be in accordance with the agreed Chief Officers pay and conditions.

Application forms and information packs can be obtained from Mark Sellwood, Chief Executive on 01244 614001 or by e-mail to mark.sellwood@cheshire.pnn.police.uk

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 6 April 2010 with interviews being held on 18 June 2010
