How to make a complaint about...
The Constabulary
If you wish to make a complaint against the police, the following publication provides more information on how to do so.

A Chief Officer
The Police Authority is responsible for investigating complaints against Chief Officers (ie Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable and Assistant Chief Constables). All complaints must be made in writing to the Chief Executive at the following address:-

The Police Authority
If you wish to make a complaint about the actions of the Police Authority, you can do so by contacting the Local Government Ombudsman on 0845 602 1983 or by visiting their website.
If your complaint is related to the actions of the staff of the Authority, your complaint must in the first instance be referred to the Chief Executive at the following address:-

A Member of the Police Authority
The responsibility for considering complaints that a Member may have breached the Code of Conduct is undertaken by the Standards Committee of the Police Authority.
What this means to you
If you believe that a Member has breached the Code of Conduct and wish to make a complaint about a Member of Cheshire Police Authority, you must submit your complaint to:

The Assessment Sub-Committee can only deal with complaints about the behaviour of a Member. It will not deal with complaints about things that are not covered by the Members' Code of Conduct. If you make a complaint to the Assessment Sub-Committee it must be about why you think a member has not followed the Code of Conduct.
