AUTHORITY GATHERS YOUR VIEWS
The Police Authority go out and about across the area in order to gather views about policing priorities and to hear what you think about police services. Members of the Authority and local police officers gather views about policing and about where the police budget should be spent.
On the whole, people have been very positive about police services that they had received and had firm opinions about the need to protect frontline policing in the expected budget cuts next year.
It is the role of the Authority to set the police budget and council tax for policing. Members also set the Chief Constable, Dave Whatton's objectives and to hold him to account on behalf of the people of Cheshire. The information gathered across the policing area is used to inform the police budget and Chief Constable's objectives.
We listened to the views of over 1300 people during 2011. Find out what they said here
The Authority will be "on tour" again this year. Come and see us at Cheshire Show on 19 & 20 June.
Further dates will be published here as they are finalised.
