What we do

The role of the Authority is to ensure that the policing service provided to the people of Cheshire is efficient and effective.

We do this in a number of ways. We listen to your views and comments about policing to ensure public consultationthat the service meets both your expectations and demands. We receive your comments at public meetings, workshops and by questionnaire, and use what you tell us to inform the Policing Plan.

Our priorities this year are to continue to protect the people of Cheshire
and see a further reduction in crime and disorder. The Chief Constable’s policing objectives for this year are to:-

  1. Respond as an emergency service and improve the way we protect and care for individuals and the public
  2. Understand and strive to meet the expectations of the people of Cheshire
  3. Maintain the trust and confidence of the public
  4. Work with the public and our partners to reduce those crimes and acts of anti-social behaviour which the public are concerned about
  5. Continue to increase the level of positive outcomes, provide the best care for victims and witnesses and reduce re-offending
  6. Improve the use of resources and prevent waste and duplication

The focus for the Constabulary is to continue to make sure there is confidence and satisfaction in the policing service we deliver and that it responds and meets public needs.

We are grateful to the local people who have supported the Authority in recent years and for the views expressed during our extensive consultation about the budget and priorities for policing, which has helped us set these objectives for the Chief Constable.

The measures that support the objectives are detailed in the Policing Plan
