What we do
The role of the Authority is to ensure that the policing service provided to the people of Cheshire is efficient and effective.
We listen to your views and comments about policing to ensure
that the service meets both your expectations and demands. We receive your comments by getting out and about and talking to you at roadshows, focus groups and workshops and we use questionnaires to collate the results. We use what you tell us to inform the Policing Plan, set the police budget and Chief Constable's objectives.
Our priority is to continue to protect the people of Cheshire and see a further reduction in crime and disorder.
The Chief Constable’s policing objectives for 2012/13 are to:-
- Respond as an emergency service and improve the way we care for individuals and the public and protect communities from serious harm
- Understand and strive to meet the expectations of the people of Cheshire
- Maintain the trust and confidence of the public
- Work with the public and partners to reduce those crimes and acts of anti-social behaviour which the public are concerned about
- Continue to increase the level of crimes solved, provide the best care for victims and witnesses and work effectively with partners to reduce re-offending
- Improve the efficiency of the police workforce and make best use of resources to prevent waste and duplication
The focus for the Constabulary is to continue to make sure there is confidence and satisfaction in the policing service and to respond to and meet public needs.
We are grateful to the local people who have supported the Authority in recent years and for the views expressed during our extensive consultation about the budget and priorities for policing, which has helped us set these objectives for the Chief Constable.
The measures that support the objectives are detailed in the Policing Plan
